Project initiator and founder/Managing Director of North Sea Rigs AS. Extensive experience in the offshore rig industry – including establishing and running drilling company start-ups like Offrig (now COSL), Maracc and Red Flag. In total over 30 years experience in the international oil industry in various managerial roles. Over 10 years working with Chinese shipyards as well as various financial institutions to build a variety of vessels and rigs.

14 years of related experience from drilling rigs and fixed installation in Norway and UK within the range from conceptual study to operational phase and support. Various positions from engineer, engineering coordinator and project manager at KCA Deutag, PTG, COSL and NSR. Working for clients as Shell, BP, Talisman, Exxonmobil and Statoil.  Recent 5-year assignments for COSL on the semi drilling rigs COSLPioneer, COSLInnovator & COSLPromoter as the Engineering coordinator. Tasks from construction and delivery in China, audits, modifications after delivery to meet the contractual obligations for client and finally through to client acceptance for commencement. Main tasks to coordinate all modifications, both technical and commercial, to meet the client obligations including all third party related items.

Mark Adshead

Over 15 years’ experience in the international offshore Oil & Gas industry. Previous involvement in major offshore field developments from Pre-FEED to first production in West Africa, Eastern Mediterranean, Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea. Prior to North Sea Rigs, Mark was the Global Asset Services Manager for Noble Energy responsible for overseeing the project commercial management activities across the organization. Mark also has experience from major capital projects with Exxonmobil, Chevron, Murphy Oil, Statoil and Dolphin Drilling.
